The College of Europe is well known for having kept pace, ever since it was founded, with the great changes which have taken place on the European continent. Now there is an opportunity to react to one of the most significant events in recent European history.

Ukraine has been in the spotlight of international public opinion in recent months. A massive social demonstration in support of democracy and justice triggered political change and gave rise to great expectations, shared by the whole of the continent. However to what extent those hopes have been fulfilled remains to be seen.

During this one-day conference a high level team of speakers, including academics, politicians and policy makers from Ukrainian and European Institutions, research institutes and related organisations, will analyse the present situation of the country, as well as the challenges Ukraine will face in the future, and the role it can play in the international arena.
