The College of Europe, contracted by the Brussels-based law firm Akin Gump
Strauss Hauer & Feld, provided services for a trade capacity-building
project in Mauritius, in the framework of the 'Programme to support the
integration of ACP States into the Multilateral Trading System', managed by
a specific Programme Management Unit based in Brussels.
A team of 6 highly specialised experts assisted negotiators in Mauritius in
building the capacity of a multidisciplinary team that would engage in
negotiations at the multilateral level, and elaborate trade policy reforms with
a view to implementing WTO commitments.

The College of Europe and the delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Brussels jointly organised the 6th edition of the Colloquium on International Humanitarian Law, which takes place annually on the premises of the College of Europe in Bruges. Each year the Colloquium emphasises a specific aspect of international humanitarian law, bringing together experts, both academic and practitioners, and non-specialists interested in the subject.

The Development Office welcomes Marie-Hélène Cussac, who took up a position as Project Manager on 10th October 2005. She will replace Matteo Fumerio, who leaves the College of Europe at the end of November. We wish them both luck in their new positions.
