14th Intensive Seminar (website)
brings together professionals from over 25 countries

One of the ‘classics’ of our training programme, the ‘Intensive Seminar on the European Union’ marked its 14th successful iteration in July 2007. Professionals from all over Europe and beyond – for example, from Chile, Canada, Mexico, Russia and the United States – gathered in Bruges to enhance or refresh their knowledge about the EU and to engage in a stimulating exchange of views on policies and politics.

This year again, participants were able to choose not only from three formulas (one-, two- or three week programmes) but also from a wide variety of topics, including ‘hot’ issues like the EU’s energy policy, climate change and consumer protection. And of course, in the year the EU celebrated its 50th anniversary, the programme also featured a special debate on the challenges and opportunities for the next 50 years.

Finally, it wouldn’t have been the College of Europe Intensive Seminar without the famous ‘Bruges spirit’! Numerous social events, like the BBQ attended by past and present participants, or the bike tour of Bruges, contributed to making the programme not only a fruitful, but also a pleasant experience.

All participants continue to have access to the intranet platform dedicated to the 2007 edition.

Information about the 15th edition of the Intensive Seminar (30 June – 18 July 2008) will be available on our website as of January 2008. Registrations will be open from mid-January to mid-June 2008.
