Jacek Saryusz-Wolski

Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the European Parliament, Former Vice-President, European Parliament, Brussels; Chairman, Foundation College of Europe; Former Secretary of State for European Integration (Poland); Former Vice-Rector of the College of Europe, Natolin (Warsaw) Campus

Dr. Saryusz-Wolski is currently Chairman of the Foundation College of Europe and Vice-President of the EP, MEP since 2004. Prior to this he has held several governmental positions including European Affairs Minister and Chief Adviser to the Prime Minister in the period 1991-96 and 1999-2001. He was negotiator of the EU – Poland Association Agreement. In his academic career he was Vice-Rector at the College of Europe, Director of the Centre for European Studies at the University of Łódz and Jean Monnet Fellow at the European University Institute in Florence. He studied at the University of Łódz and at the Centre European Universitaire, Universite de Nancy (France). Dr Saryusz-Wolski obtained his Ph.D. In Economics from the University of Łódz, where he also held positions as Assistant and Associate Professor at the Institute of Economics. Currently professor of european integration at the Collegium Civitas in Warsaw, at the College of Europe Natolin and at the University of Łódź. He is also member of the board of Trans European Policy Studies Association (TEPSA) Brussels, and president of the Euroatlantic Association of Poland..
